figure ill start this section off right.
i carry a victorinox swisstool spirit s, in black oxidized finish.
for years ive carried a leatherman wave. i recently took a chance on a victorinox and havent thought about carrying my leatherman again. for what i do day to day the swisstool is all i need. little easier on the tired hands as the handles are slightly contoured as well.
love to see what everyone else carries and their opinion on their tool

I carry a Gerber Multi-too. It's very heavy tho. I love the tool but don't like the weight.

I have both a Gerber Military (Main Pack) and a Leatherman Military multitool (BOB), both with driver and screw bit attachments. I also EDC a Leatherman Wave and a Swiss Champ. I have one of the cheaper Swiss Champions, with a few less do-dads, that I keep in my BOB as well.

In my BOB I have a collection of those inexpensive multitools you see at Christmas time too. Ones with a hammer head, or axe head, or adjustable wrench or longnose pliers, etc. Sure there are about 8 of them, each with different heads, but they are lighter than a full tool box, and they each have knives, drivers, saws, and files on them as well as their "main function". I've found a lot of uses for those when I have been out in the bush, making up shelters or fixing things on the fly. They have lasted surprisingly long for being cheap pieces of retail trash. If they last long enough to get me out of a single bad situation, they will have more than exceeded their post-holiday markdown prices.

My EDC is a Leatherman Wave (2nd gen) on my belt, and SAK Spartan Lite (the kind with a little LED light) in my pocket. As far as multitools go, I don't think I could ask for more between the two of them.

i carry a leatherman Charge everyday and have a small original leatherman that I carry in my RAT7 sheath. They have been good to me on the warranty so I will stick with them.

That, my friend, is a visual I could have gone my entire life without.

To the topic, however - Gerber multitool for me. Nylon sheath also has Armageddon firesteel and striker tucked inside. Not the best carry solution, but it works for the time being until I come up with another option.

I use a Leatherman Wave multitool, which has been required outdoor gear in my backpack for years. The leatherman has held up very well with hard use.

One day I'll graduate to a newer model Leatherman, if the wave ever breaks.

how sturdy is the SOG? ive seen a few in stores, and ive always imagined the small powerlock gears bending and warping causing the pliers to fail. have you ever really mashed down on the handles like say on a nut or bolt?

and yeah ron i can understand how you feel about the wave, i too thought i would never need to upgrade, and to be honest one of the main reasons i bought a different MT was the price was too good to pass up(40 bucks and 97cent shipping for a 120dollar tool), and ive always been impressed with victorinox's warranty and toughness, which is the main reason for buying it. the price helped big time  i really wish they still had them on sale because i would of bought a few more for xmas gifts. i have been carrying my swiss tool for a couple weeks now and ive been nothing but impressed with it. it actually works a little better for my job as it has all the wire tools on it. a lot of the equip. that i install deals with AC cords and splicing them into a breaker box, wiring in remotes, safety gates, all kinds of stuff and im constantly pulling out my swiss tool to get the job done rather than using my Klein's. and Klein's are just about the best out there.

The Sog really grabs and holds I used it for years rigging boats and I crimped 1000's of marine grade electrical conectors, I just wished that they would float:eek:. I do have the leatherman TTI I got at a pawn shop for $45.00.

Multitool EDC?

Leatherman "Wave" on my belt (with a "Bunker" Firesteel in the side pouch of the sheath...it sticks up an inch above the top of the sheath and makes the whole thing look like a cell phone), and Victorinox "Camper" on my keyring.

im a big guy and that bunker would poke the hell out of me lol.
im wanting to get a leatherman surge. i like the idea of being able to remove the file if i have to sharpen the knife blade on it in a pinch.
