Thanks for the post George...I'm looking at new sleeping bags for myself and all my family at the mo...if I can't find what I want for a price I'm happy with I plan to make em myself.
All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.

I always see end of winter sales at places like costco, BJ's, walmart etc. on 0 degree mummy bags real cheap. I picked up 2 for both our cars in winter; each was under $30 a couple years ago (synthetic not down).

I am on the lookout for a new bag this spring as well. I have a decent winter bag, but it is showing it's age. Too many patches I think !
There is a lot to be said for a warm fire, a dry bed and good food......many do not have it !

I'm going to try my hand at making my own survival quilt with features that will help it be a real shelter from all types of weather. That means it must be waterproof, it must insulate the user from the ground and it must insulate the user from the cold air surrounding it if needed. You should be able to get in it fully dressed and with boots on if needed (some places really get that cold).
I want mine to be comfortable so I'm incorporating my name brand foam pad into it. All I need is a nice snow storm to test it in. If I'm done in time, I can test it this winter.

Hi
Camping Sleeping Bags is really very good.In the past camping sleeping bags were big and bulky. They are an essential part of the camping equipment yet they were difficult to pack and store. They took up too much room and the options were limited to find one that would fit each personal need.
